Harlow and MacGregor/British American furniture requires very little maintenance. Occasional cleaning (once a year) may be necessary, using warm water with a mild soap. For a particularly stubborn spot, a very small amount of bleach may be used. Do NOT use a power washer on teak wood. - What type of products should I use on my teak furniture?
No special products are needed for the care of your furniture. - Should I treat my teak furniture with oil?
Teak wood has it’s own oils, and does not need to be oiled. In fact, oiling can cause the furniture to mildew. The teak wood itself, will not mildew, however mildew can grow on dirt, oil or any other substance that is not part of the natural wood. - How long will my teak furniture last?
Teak is a very dense hard wood that is extremely strong. The high quantity of oils is what helps preserve it for so long. The furniture is crafted using mortise and tenon joinery, and the highest standards of construction durability, known to last for over 100 years!
